The Noces are a fashion brand that values high-quality materials and craftsmanship
The Noces is an ethical fashion brand launched in 2016 for conscious fashionistas looking for unique raffia handbags, pouches and baskets, zebu horn, leather and embroidered jewelry.
Inspired by a bohemian chic lifestyle, we bring back ancestral techniques into fashion (weaving, carving, crochet and embroidery) and create handcrafted accessories made with locally purchased materials from Madagascar.
We work with family-owned businesses and sole artisans, and whenever possible, we collaborate with women from rural areas.
They are registered at the Chamber of Commerce of Antananarivo to guarantee good working conditions and fair wages. We also believe in giving back to the communities and donate 5-10% of the annual profit to charities in Madagascar.
The whole collection is inspired by a bohemian chic lifestyle.
From the different countries we visited, the people we met or the things we saw, I would pick up something: the colors, the shapes, the patterns, even the warmth and the whole atmosphere!
We also love stripes and embroideries, and we love to mix it all to create truly unique pieces.
We clearly love to blur the lines: our spring and summer collection is very colorful, we add tassels and pompons everywhere for a bohemian touch and we love to embed sweet messages on our handbags and jewelry to spread positive vibes.
As it is the wedding season, we also create a romantic collection for brides-to-be and their bridesmaids – all designed with love.
Our upcoming fall and summer collection will be slightly minimalist, easy to wear as we tend to create timeless chic pieces.
Designing is more like a passion. We just love to try different styles, sometimes minimalist and sometimes bohemian with colors and fringes everywhere.
We just want to create accessories with a strong personality and that reflect our values – and we hope people would recognize what we do at first sight and hopefully fall in love with them!
Very hard question as we love all of them because they all convey a message and a story. They have been thought for all women who are conscious, trendy, and chic.
Our collection offers a large price range so everyone can benefit – from our embroidered brooch to our leather / raffia basket. But if we really have to make a choice, we would say our Madeleine raffia and leather handbag because it is a classic one that can be worn all seasons (from the beach to the office!).
Once the design has been finished, we do the sample. This is a tricky part as it may take a lot of time to make some changes – especially on the details.
We sometimes change the color, reduce the size or add some embroidered messages.
Everything is handmade so we do produce in a limited quantity. We then work with our partners to test the accessories on the market and see if they are well received!
In the health and fitness industry
We are committed to giving 5-10% of our annual revenues to causes around children, education and women empowerment in Madagascar.
We are working with local nonprofits organizations to provide them with financial support in order to help those in need. So we hope to encourage more fashion for a cause in the future!
We are grateful to be able to combine both passions for fashion and philanthropy under one umbrella as this is more of a childhood dream to create, help and build a better future.
We love evenings because it is good to finally rest after a long working day but more importantly, it is a great moment to breathe, reflect on what was done during the day, plan the next day and of course, spend quality time with the family.
