The MUSKAD creations are unique, handcrafted in France.
Inspired by travels, Muskad offers colorful, feminine and simplistic jewellery.
All leathers are from the most prestigious French tanneries and all the materials used (jewelry, silk, textile lining …) are derived and processed in France.
The nobility of these materials responds to the brand’s values: Requirement & Quality.
The artisans who give their lives working by hand with respect for tradition and French quality.
A French brand in spirit with an exotic touch.
Inspiration is random I would say! It comes from places I visited, the light, the colour, the people, a type of architecture will be the base for new ideas and creations.
The Dianae handbag probably highlights best the complexity and ambiguity of my creation process. It all started while wandering around Rome. The drape of the bag and its design will remind us of the Goddess Dianae and her dress, while the structure of the bag takes roots in the architectural style of the Antique Rome.
The purity of the lines on the bags are in fact extremely complex from a technical point to achieve and require an exceptional artisanal know how.
The lizard and python skins are fascinating materials, people’s reactions when touching them are always interesting to witness!
The process is rather long and sometimes difficult, in the sense that once I have thrown down my ideas, we must turn them into something achievable from a technical point of view!
We will start with some basic drawings and work towards creating prototypes, in line with the constraint of manufacturing as well as the quality the brand imposes.
The family history means that I have grown up into a world of artisans – where creation was always at the midst of every work.
Leather goods started as a hobby by collecting pieces from different places I or my sister visited. I started being fascinated by exotic leather, but could never find the perfect shape or quality that I was looking for.
So, I decided to create Muskad to have beautiful pieces, made in France with a fantastic craftsmanship but with an affordable pricing in comparison to more established houses.
My career started in law, so I have had a previous life so to say before going into designing. I have finally found what makes me happy getting up in the morning.
However, having this experience in the corporate world means that I can navigate more easily the pitfall of creating your own business which really is a challenge on a daily basis.
The late morning, when I take my break next to the canal and come-back home full of fresh ideas.
